Your Heart

"You live more when you open your heart"

Which is so true; If you don't open your heart you will miss so many things in life. Do you want that? Live & love as today & everyday was your last.

(I just saw it on a DU ad, driving to Dubai the other day. I love messages that speaks to you, makes you think & which makes you question & change your life in the direction you really wish it to be heading).

We just welcomed two homeless dogs into our life & they bring so much love, joy & happiness.

Richer soul

The more we give of ourselves the richer our soul become.

Being rich has different meaning to different people. What kind of richness do you want to fill your life with? Material or spiritual richness? Remind yourself that everything in life is a choice. Make sure you chose the right one!

Spring is here

Spring...

Beauty of life & nature starting all over again.

PEACE

Peace starts with a smile..

I wish people would only mind their own business. I love to learn, get educated but sometimes I get the feeling if we didn't have all this sources of news everyday we would be more happy and the world better. Did that thought ever hit you? There are for sure things that should still be highlighted in news like: nature disasters and poverty but are we really aware about for ex. how many children are starving to death in the world every minute? I don't think we do, which is sad. SO keep smiling, spread your positivity which hopefully will lead to a better world and focus your time and energy on helping people around you and in the world.

Broken heart and hurt

Did I say I'm heartbroken?

After being heartbroken you see your life from a total different prospective.

Time to move on. Focus and find my own dreams. It's tough. It's easy to look back, say "why" & "how" that person that you loved and trusted the most could treat you so bad. Even worse lie to you. What I learned from this is: nobody is perfect and we all make mistakes. But if it's a lifestyle it's not a mistake.

In my mind I have tried to ask myself. Can I forgive him?

"You can patch up whatever is broken, but if you are the one who fixed it, you will always know in your heart where the fault lines lays"

 - Nineteen minutes by Jodi Picoult

BUT...

They say: "What doesn't kill you make you stronger", right?

My blog that was going to be a inspiration has all of the sudden the past month turned into something about the negative sides of life, which is a part of my life right now. But after rain comes the sun, right? So I'm waiting for better times to come. I'm moving on. Focusing my thoughts and life on the future because "those who live in the past limit their future". And I DO NOT WANT TO DO THAT. (Quote from my Yogi tea, which keeps brightening up my days as I move on step by step with my life).

Time to realize who I am and what I want because "without realizing who you are, happiness cannot come to you"

Don't victimize yourself

Feeling sorry for your self? Don't.
Why?
Well sometimes people allow themselves to be "victims". Once again, don't. Focus on positive things instead, like all the wonderful people around you. And do something about your life instead of acting or pretending to be a victim.

"Eat Right for Your Blood Type"

I'm strongly convinced:

"I believe in Eat Right for your Blood Type".

Did you know:

What you can eat -- and how you exercise --  depends on which blood type you belong to. I have blood type A.

I wanted to become a vegetarian as a young teenager. I didn't know anyone who was vegetarian but I had a strong will to become one. But my mother said NO with the argument that I was too young, still growing and needed protein. 2 years later, 14 years old, I finally told my mother that I had decided to become a vegetarian. It was just before Christmas and she was not so happy about my decision. Reason, I did not really enjoy eating meat anymore. Nor did I want to support the terrible and industrial meat production. Today, 11 years later I have never since eaten any meat. I have to say, it was the best decision I have ever made in my life. I feel great: healthy, happy and I believe I'm in the best shape both mentally and physically I possibly can be in.

Yesterday one of my friends sent me a chart with all the blood type, its health risks and what the should eat according to your blood group. I'm A and people having blood type A should eat a veggie base diet! So always follow your heart and your beliefs. No one knows better than you. I strongly believe in this research, that you should eat accordingly to your blood type.

So check out "Eat right for your blood type" and see if it's something that you might feel is right for you too.

Yogi Tea

A very inspiring person introduced me to Yogi tea many years back and I got seduced by the first sip. Also its teabags has nice quotes, which sometimes can brighten up your day with positive energy. Last but not least it's organic.

"The trust that others place in you is your grace"

Right now I'm sipping on Peach Detox. Mm! Try it.
I thought I could forgive the unforgivable but I'm not so sure anymore.
Some acts and words just burns like tattoos in my heart and mind. I'm afraid I will never be able to completely forget them. I don't understand and I think I will never understand...

"Respect everything living!"

As you might know I've now been veggie over 10 years and I have no regrets. I love being a veggie eater. Becoming vegetarian was the best decision I have ever made. I will never eat meat ever again. Why? Well because I think and feel that there is a strong bound between us: humans, animals and nature. We should all respect that bound connecting us, care for it and make sure it lasts.

Weeds

Weeds...

Weed I have heard is addictive. But I did not know watching "Weeds" could be so damn addictive. It's a TV series, one of the best I have ever seen. Have you heard about it? I hadn't till one of my friends recommended me to see it. Now I'm like glued to the TV.

You should see it. I promise you won't regret it, it's great! "Weeds" won a Golden Globe Winner - for best performance by an actress. It's soooo gooood!

.Orthorexia nervosa.

We all want to be healthy right?

Trust

I just realized by finding out the truth about our relationship that I have been living a dream. What I thought was reality wasn't really true. Our relationship and its reality was built up on lies, many lies, too many lies. It's hard to accept that my life due to somebodies lies was just a dream, which I though was reality. How can you hurt the one person you say you love? How can you cheat on the person you say you love? And how can you cheat on this person over and over again? I don't understand anymore...

It will be hard to ever trust anyone again after being let down by the person who mattered the most to me. Also having a father that cheated on my mother it will be even harder. Moreover after seeing how many couples that cheat on each other - I'm not sure if I believe in love anymore. One person really taught me this lesson, I thought he was one of the few exceptions but I was wrong..

A question that pops up in my mind is:

If you give someone your heart and they cheat on you, will your heart ever recover again? Will I spend the rest of my life with a hole inside that can't be filled?

"Forget about the shark and start swimming"

Don't run away from your fears or other things in life. Fight them! Or you might end up running away from things for the rest of your life. Make it a habit to deal with them instead. In the end that will make your life so much easier in the long run.

Silence, emptiness and loneliness...

Have you ever experience silence?
Have you ever experience emptiness?
Have you ever experience loneliness?

These three things might all be very depressing things to experience but I do believe that they are very important. Why? Well, because I believe experience this three things sometime in your life time will make you understand and appreciate everything and everyone around you.

It will also help you to find yourself;

who you are, what you want, what you really enjoy, who you really miss, who or what really matters to you.

It's a good for you to really find your inner thoughts and feelings and reflect over them. Be just with yourself and acknowledge your deepest thoughts and feelings. Those are the ones you always should listen and pay attention to, because that is what you feel deep deep inside. That is how I believe you will find yourself. We have all felt lost at some points in life and those are the moments you should really try to feel silence, emptiness and loneliness in order to figure out the most basic things in your life, which might seem simple at a glance but might be very complicated and connected to many things in your life.

Lagom - "just the right amount"

My own formula of happiness is:

finding your "lagom".

I feel having too much or too little of something very stressful as well as trying too little or too hard. My aim is therefore always to try to find the right balance. In swedish we have a word for this balance called "lagom*". I think we all will find our true happiness through implying "lagom" to our daily life.

*Lagom (pronounced [ˈlɑ̀ːɡɔm]) is a Swedish word with no direct English equivalent, meaning "just the right amount". (Wikipedia)

Right to judge someone

"Who has the right to judge someone? Morally, no one has the right to judge anyone else. Legally, it's not a right- it's a responsibility".

- Quote from Nineteen minutes by Jodi Picoult

Mathematical formula of happiness

I'm at the moment reading a very inspiring book about life. And I found something I would like to share with you:

Mathematical formula of happiness:

R/E, or, Reality divided by Expectations.

There is two ways to be happy:

1. Improve your reality.

 or

2. Lower your expectations.

Isn't that easy? What do you choose? But what happens if you don't have any expectations? Or in my case always have too high expectations? Will I be "unhappy" for the rest of my life or "suffer" from little happiness? I believe despite this formula in having high expectations on myself and others because that is actually a source of happiness for me. But I know what we all need a balance (平衡) in life.
"If we don't change the direction we are headed,
we will end up where we are going".

-Chinese proverb

"There is only one success, to spend your life in your own way".

-Christopher Morley

Since I was very young I always went my own way. I did listened to other people, for example teachers and my mother, but I early realized that it's their recommendations, believes and thoughts. What they think is best is not always what is best for you. Who says they are right? Everyone is different. And for that simple reason you should always do things your own way. Do you sometimes get this voice in your head or feeling in your heart telling your something? Follow it! I believe if you stop listening and ignore that voice or feeling you will soon loose yourself due to not following your wishes, dreams and own believes.

Mitch Albom

If there is one person I would like to meet this year it would be Mitch Albom. I'm a big fan of all his fantastic books. He has written many amazing and mind-blowing beautiful books about life, death, decisions and its consequences. They are eye opening, a kind of art in black inc on white pages that charmed me and may change your way of living and seeing the world. I therefore recommend everyone to read his books. They might not be written for everyone but my sister read all his books very fast after I recommended her to read his first book "Tuesdays with Morrie".  They are short but has a deep and beautiful message.

Here are some quotes from his books.

"No life is a waste. The only time we waste is the time we spend thinking we are alone."
-- The Five People You Meet In Heaven

"One day spent with someone you love can change everything."
 -- For One More Day

"What is it about childhood that never lets you go? "
 -- For One More Day

"There is everything you know and there is everything that happens. When the two do not line up, you make a choice."
 -- For One More Day

"Dying . . . is only one thing to be sad over. Living unhappily is something else."
 -- Tuesdays With Morrie

I first read "Tuesdays with Morrie", which still might be my favorite book of all times. It's about and old man, a young man and life's greatest lesson. After that I fast read all his other books: "For one more day"-“Every family is a ghost story . . ., "Five people you met in heaven" -All ending are beginnings. We just don't know it at the time... and his last published book "Have a little faith"- Have a Little Faith is a book about a life’s purpose; about losing belief and finding it again; about the divine spark inside us all. It is one man’s journey, but it is everyone’s story. .

I can't wait for Mitch Albom to write more books... but start by enjoy these four. You won't regret it! I promise.

Men are like buses...

Never cry for being left by a man because:

"Men are like buses. If you miss one, there will always be an other one coming".

Quote from "A Singel Man"

An Education

I watched "An Education" last night. Have you seen it? I found it being a very moving movie about life and passion, first love and its heartache, being let down and cheated on but also finding the path back. Finding the path back can seem to be impossible. Admitting you have been wrong may be very hard. But sometimes you just have to suck it up just like the young girl in this movie did. Believe in what you want and you can always do it. Look out for opportunities. You should see the movie if you already haven't seen it. I love movies that has a message and this movie has one, it's not life changing but it plants a small seed in your mind that grows bigger if you give it attention. I made me think that people, especially women, should never become dependent on anyone, not your father, best friend nor boyfriend or husband.

Always follow your heart and be independent. I think that is the way you will find your true happiness.

Positive attitude

I have since a few years back spend most of my time with a very special and fantastic man. He always blows me away with his positive attitude. Even in really bad and hard situations when I normally feel like crying or giving up he smiles and says: "Oh well, it could have been worse..". He is unique in so many ways. I have never met a man like him. He is not only extremely positive but also incredibly funny, loving, generous, caring, handsome, smart and great at most things. He is like space, endless. I have found the best life partner and friend in the world.

So my Mr Right never leaves home without a positive attitude and he also always wakes up with a positive attitude. It's very rare I have seen him moody. He is a big inspiration to me and I would also like him to be your inspiration. I try and live each day to the full with as much positivism I possible can carry with me. We all know that if you start off your day negative, your day will only end up that way.

So be positive it always pays off in the end.

योग

 योग

I have promised myself for years that I will start doing more yoga. I have always liked it so why wouldn't I? And I have always wished to do more. I used to feel that I never had time. So I have now decided to make time for yoga in my everyday life. Just a few weeks ago I decided to try to expand both my knowledge and also practice about yoga. I now start my mornings with a yoga session. It feels great. My body slowly wakes up by stretching and finding its strength for the day. By doing yoga regularly I also feel that I learn more everyday, see more aspects of myself and my body. I feel that I with yoga can explores my strengths and my inner self.

I hope this will inspire you to do the thing or things you always deep down wanted and dreamed to do. It's never too late. And you can always make time. It's your life and you are your own boss.

Be the change...

Inspired by my yoga teacher:

"Be the change"

- Debbie

If you want to change something in your life, at your work or in the world then you have to be the change. You have to apply the change into your life and live after it. People will see it, maybe get inspired and also follow you. It's not enough just believing. So once again:

"Be the change"

Life Lesson 1

"Never look back.
Remember you can deal with today and tomorrow but there is nothing you can do about yesterday. Learn from your mistakes, but don't dwell on them."

-Henry Blofeld

We all know this very well but even so I still can't apply this to my everyday life. I love people that do and I will work harder on thinking and planning my life a little bit more careful so I never will have to look back in what I could have done different or things I regret doing or not doing...

Your ecological footprint

Why are we, the world, so obsessed by producing, consuming and buying more and more every year?
Why do we want so much?
Why do we need so much?

Check out your ecological footprint:

It can be eye opening!

Did you know that...

...25 % of the earths plants and animals are threaten by extinction?

And still people are just standing by watching it all happening.

It's time to wake up.

Ask yourself;

What kind of car are you driving?
Where is your shirt made?
Where were your apples produced?
How do you go to work?
How do you heat your house?
Are you supporting and buying locally and organically grown products?
What do you actually do for the environment?

Remember small things matters!

Time

Make time for what really matters

Dare... take the risk!

Too many people are afraid for changes today. People end up getting stuck in jobs, cities, apartments, relationships and lives they don't really want.

I dared to take a risk. I decided to resign from my old job which in itself wasn't too bad, actually some peoples dream. But it didn't give me anything anymore. Some people  told me that I shouldn't but be grateful that I had a job, because many due to the world rises haven't got any. But I believe in taking risks, follow your heart and realize your dreams. Due to that I dared and I got a hole new life.

Always follow the voice inside your heart and you will be on the right path. But make sure you plan every step carefully and always make sure you have a back-up plan, just in case.

I ended up with the best job I possible could get at the moment. If you close one door there will always be a new one waiting to be open with new adventures and challenges. I also have a new home and even better it is together with my boyfriend. I have now many exciting things in life to look forward to: create a home together with the man I love, learn new things in my new job and hopefully give a needing dog a warm home one day soon...

I hope you found some inspiration to realize your dreams by reading this.
